The Clinic's History

PHC started in 1999 as the dream of local medical providers and community members who, after holding a health fair that over 700 people attended, realized the enormous need for low-cost health services in the Park City area. Its home for the first several years was a medical van in which a group of doctors, medical technicians and translators volunteered their time to travel throughout Summit and Wasatch Counties offering evening clinics. The response was tremendous.

Today PHC provides evening clinics in a rented facility on Kearns Boulevard in Park City offering women's health and obstetric care, and diabetes, hypertension, eye, and general primary care. PHC offers educational programs in prenatal health and diabetes care, and has established partnerships with local pharmacies for low-cost prescriptions. Over 300 volunteers, from medical personnel to translators, have worked hard to keep PHC's operating costs down by giving of their time and talent.

Due to generous community members, businesses and foundations, PHC has met expenses for the past three years, even with a dramatic increase in patient visits.
