The People We Serve

Volunteer Stories

For consistency of care and continual improvement of our Clinic methods and programs, the People's Health Clinic relies on having a Medical Director supervising each evening. These physicians oversee the volunteer providers and share their knowledge of individual patients' needs as well as the Clinic's partnership programs.

PHC's Medical Directors are:

Penny Peacock, M.D. - Tuesday Night General Practice/Pediatrics Clinic

Gary Sharp, M.D. - Wednesday Night Prenatal Medical Clinic

John Houchins, M.D. - Thursday Night Chronic Illness & Family Practice Clinic

The People's Health Clinic operates largely with volunteer medical and auxiliary personnel. In 2007 alone, doctors and other volunteers will donate over $100,000 in medical services to Clinic patients!

We are grateful to all of the Physicians' Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Medical students who serve with us as part of their Community Health Rotation.

We have a continual need for more medical providers. There is a direct correlation between the number of medical providers who volunteer and the number of patients the Clinic can serve. If you are a medical provider, consider volunteering at one of our clinics.
